A Man of Youth

I love Gary Oldman, he's got his career vested.

Check out a few of the many the roles he has under his belt - total cults, classics and youth. He has a ten year plan and it sounds like money.

Commissioner Gordon - Batman
Carnegie - Book of Eli
Sgt. Reznov - Call of Duty (video game)
Sirius Black - Harry Potter
Sgt. Jack Barnes - Medal of Honor (video-game)
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg - The Fifth Element
Dracula - Dracula
Sid Vicious - Sid & Nancy

Nothing to write home about

Went on a blind date over the weekend and all that was playing in my head the entire time was Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire".

Not a good sign.

This post is so messed.

universal conduit?

Wayne Levin rocks my world

I am drawn to the ocean. All of my reoccurring dreams and nightmares have to do with it. My dad was also drawn and repelled by it. I'm finding that I am more and more like him and this scares the bejeebus outta me. Nature over Nurture yet again.

This could be the beginning of the end.

Spunk-tastic

I love the outfits Ellen Page wears in Inception. Coordinated by costume designer Jeffrey Kurland - he's also slated to dress the characters of the new Captain America flick. I'm pretty curious about his repertoire and the new movie with Stanley Tucci.

Seeing is Believing

Took a trip up to Baltimore today with great friends Tej & Perez - we ended up at the American Visionary Art Museum. I was reminded that art doesn't have to be good. Sounds like a back handed compliment - but honestly, it was great fun.

My favorite was the Cabaret Mechanical Theater exhibition. Makes me want to create.

Backwards from 5

Demolition Derby is like modern day jousting - I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did - something primeval releases the joy endorphins. Fun times were had.

I love the Teares.

Tuesday Night Rush

Tuesday night concerts in Richmond kill me but I gotta go catch this show - I want to witness the bands craziness along with their wicked stage lighting. They'll be at The National on Sept 21 - tickets are $26 a head.

LISTEN to Ghostland Observatory

Wish they'd just come to DC.

Space Engineer

Featured artist of the day is Nigel Godrich- sound engineer of such gems as Radiohead from The Basement. The recordings are mastered beautifully and are incredible works of art.

More recently, he engineered The Scott Pilgrim vs. The World's Original Motion Picture Score.

I wonder what hes like in person.

Oldies but goodies.

love tap

I think I may go see a Demolition Derby soon.

Never been, sounds like good people watching, I think the mission is much like bumper cars but times 10,000

Process looks fun. Nothing lasts forever.

lub it or leab it?

I've always loved the mimicking of computer generated line with hand drawn knock offs. I'll have to dig out an old project of mine that I had forgotten about - Coming to OfficeCrumbs soon.

Check out this hand drawn wall paper. Looks awesome but I don't know if I would want to look at this every day in such a large scale. Optical illusion is wigging me out!

Check out the rest of the images at Apartment Therapy. Whaddaya think?

What the swiss?

For the first time in a bajillion years K-Swiss has a hip ad campaign and shoes that don't look like a throwback to the late 80s.

Weirdness, now get championy.

I love Danny McBride

Remember: journey over destination

Stefan Sagmeister has the right idea - though the destination is pretty sweet. I'm impressed.

Deep in the sea

When I was a kid I used to have dreams where I am traveling effortlessly deep in the ocean - breathing as I normally breathe, flying like a minnow past creatures and canyons without a care in the world.
