Take Cover

Carole King wrote this song with her, then boyfriend/future ex-husband at age 18 in 1960.

Lead singer of The Shirelles, Shirley Owens, thought it was too country and almost didn't record the track. They were the first to release the song.

Came across this little ditty with Hana the other day.

pink on pink

Phoenix performs on NPR

This was posted back in May but I just got around to listening to it, the whole short set is just plain fun but stay tuned till about 8:30 for the song they collaborated with Air for the Virgin Suicides Soundtrack. It changes the way you breathe - and thats pretty powerful.

have it, love it, share it

C'mon! Why Not?

Why does my NV10 work fine on OS X 10.5.6 and doesn't on 10.6.4?!

Royally frustrating.

Ricky Gervais might be Elmo

Ricky Gervais' maniacal laughter sounds just like Elmo, at some points you can't tell what sound is coming out of which...this segment is messed.

hobnob

Peter Wolf Crier put on an amazing show - no joke, there were like 8 people in attendance and both members are jaw droppingly talented.

I got to speak with Peter after the show. He was really sweet and was psyched that Bob Boilen, host of NPR's All Songs Considered, was in the audience.

What a weird and wonderful night.

Covered

Check out this great site sharing show posters- a great venue for artwork that isn't as readily accessible as it should be. I can't tell if some are just fan work but many are legit and they feature many talented illustrators and artists.

For example, the one below is for a 2009 Kings of Leon concert from New Zealand.

Going for Baroque

Remember sitting in art history class way back in the year 2001 - marveling at how disgustingly decadent, tacky and redonk the Baroque Period was? Well its been coming back with a vengeance for the past 5 years and its got a hold on me.

Check out new James Jean - hes updated, upgraded and evolved.

Bad to the Bone

Been researching for new modes of transportation and decided that I'd like a motorized bicycle. The one pictured below is sold by a great little shop called Spooky Tooth Cycles.

I don't quite have the cojones to ride their wicked looking gas powered bikes - mostly because those breaks look like glorified erasers on clamps. I think I'll probably go for a nerdy folding electric bicycle that goes 15MPH - but one can dream...

I'll keep you posted on my purchase.

office crumbs.

Hello and Welcome!

This blog is called office crumbs, because whatever I post here are the crumbs of my soul after an honest days work at the daily grind (a.k.a the office). I'm excited to share my interests, personal projects, and inspirations. I hope to post daily.

Repeat after me: I work to live. I work to live. I work to live. get addicted.
